KENWOOD Announces Audio Products Designed & Engineered for Harley-Davidson Motorcycles

LONG BEACH, CA (02.03.23) – KENWOOD USA has announced the addition of a dedicated category of products aimed to boost the audio experience for Harley-Davidson® motorcycle riders. KENWOOD’s new eXcelon Motorsports “Motorcycle Audio” product line offers customers a better sound experience, while also maintaining all the factory controls and fitment with a “Plug & Play” solution.

The lineup will consist of all-in-one product packages designated by years 1998-2013 and 2014+, along with a la carte amplifier, speaker, and accessory solutions. Packages will offer direct fitment replacement speakers and sound-matched amplifier(s), enhanced with better durability and power handling than OE solutions, allowing riders to achieve better sound and higher volume levels. Expansion kits such as replacement hard saddlebag lids (1998-2013) and an existing lid cut-in kit (2014+) are precisely designed for the XM69R 6x9s. Riders can also add speakers to the lower crash bars of the bike with optional speaker pod accessory kits, all with an enhanced fit and finish. “Boot” resistant steel grilles and more, strategically designed amplifier mounting plates, and more set riders up for a full system out of the gate or easy future system expansion.

“To ensure that our dealers would be equipped with proven products right out of the gate, we looked for a partner that already lives and breathes motorcycle audio,” said John Lucas, KENWOOD Vice President of Sales. “Just like our success in partnering with companies like iDatalink™ and Garmin®, when it came to a partner for motorcycle audio, Hogtunes’ level of trusted product, support, and separate network of distribution was the logical choice. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the products that we’ve developed and the support that Mike “Pez” Pesdirz (Owner/President of Hogtunes) has provided.”

Rick Noetzil, KENWOOD General Manager Product and R&D, unveiled the new KENWOOD eXcelon Motorcycle Audio line to KENWOOD Sales Reps during the rep meeting Thursday, February 2nd.
Hogtunes team members Shaun Guthrie, Scott Hooper and Mike “Pez” Pesdirz (LtoR) suited up in KENWOOD shirts to help unveil the new KENWOOD eXcelon Motorcycle Audio line to KENWOOD reps during the rep meeting.

The KENWOOD eXcelon Motorsports Motorcycle Audio line is set to begin shipping this Spring.

HOLLY HILL, FL (01.13.22) – Saddle Tramp by Metra Electronics has new radio installation kits, digital signal processors, smart brake light flashers, a new and improved handlebar audio control retention interface, accessory harnesses, and an amp wiring kit, in stock now and shipping. All of these new products are designed to fit select Harley-Davidson motorcycle models for easy installation, giving owners better options for audio system upgrades and customizations. These new products were first shown at the 2021 SEMA Show and will also be on display at the AIMExpo in the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 19th to 21st.

Radio Installation Kits
Saddle Tramp’s new radio installation kits include an interface with a water-resistant enclosure, wiring harness, and an antenna adapter to make replacing the factory radio easy. The interface retains the use of the factory handlebar audio controls and other features, depending on the kit. The BC-HDR-K1 is for an ISO Double-DIN radio that has an “L” shaped chassis design with the chassis at the top, and the BC-HDR-K3 is for a Single-DIN radio. Both kits are designed to fit non-amplified 2014-up* Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Electra Glide, Ultra, Limited, and 2015-up* Road Glide models. Saddle Tramp’s new Police Edition kits are designed to fit 2014-up* Harley-Davidson Electra Glide FLHTP models with the police package. Both of the kits designed for Single-DIN radios include an LCD screen to display the oil pressure and EITMS status.

Digital Signal Processors with Built-in Interface
Saddle Tramp’s new patented DSPs are designed for easy integration with aftermarket or factory systems for an enhanced sound system with full tuning control. The BC-DSPL-HD1 fits 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson FLH and FLT motorcycles with plug-n-play harnessing. The BC-DSPL-HD2’s key benefit is its advanced integration technology reflashes a non-amplified radio for a flat response curve, without the need for external equipment. This reduces the cost, saves time, and allows installers to provide better service with complete control over the upgrade. Both DSPs provide six channels of output and a fifteen-band graphic EQ per channel with a selectable slope. Installers can adjust and control the sound system specifically for the acoustics of the motorcycle and the driver’s personal audio preferences. All tuning is done wirelessly via a smart app for tablets or phones and can be password-protected once set up.

BC-DSPL-HD1 and BC-DSPL-HD2 Product Specifications

A rotary switch on the control box has selectable options for ten different patterns, such as a slow flash and then solid light, or constant strobe. This plug-n-play flasher is easy to install and is designed specifically for the original factory rear brake lights, and is not compatible with rear bullet-style brake/turn signal lights. The BC-HDSSF1 fits 2014-up* Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Road Glide, and Road King Touring models, the BC-HDSSF2 fits 1996-2013 Electra Glide, Ultra Classic/Limited, Road King/Classic, and Road Glide Standard/Ultra/Custom Touring models, and the BC-HDSSF3 fits 2010-2013 Street Glide and Road Glide Touring models.

The BC-9717 is a plug-n-play rear speaker bypass harness used for splitting the inputs and outputs when installing aftermarket amplifiers in 2014-up* Harley-Davidson Ultra Limited models. For adding aftermarket 12volt accessories to a power source, the BC-9719 is a battery accessory Y harness with OE connectors designed to fit 2004-2013 Harley-Davidson Touring FLH/FLT models and 2014-up* Touring and Trike models with Stage II Boom!™ Audio packages.

Amp Wiring Kit
Saddle Tramp’s new BC-9703 is an amplifier wiring kit designed to fit 2014-up* Harley-Davidson FLH and FLT models. New SiriusXM Solutions for 2020 Vehicles and New Harley-Davidson Application Re-Released

ENGLEWOOD, CO (11.21.2019) – VAIS Technology has released new satellite radio integrated solutions specifically designed for 2020 vehicle models. This solution allows owners of these 2020 models to add SiriusXM satellite radio to their existing factory stereo, without compromising functionality.

GSR-HM51, Harley Davidson

The new 2020 integration kits provide coverage for 2020 Toyota, Honda, GM, Ford, Hyundai and Kia vehicles. Application guide available on VAIS Technology website. Also, all these models are compatible with the GSR-UV01 (universal unit) which can be flashed using online software. This allows dealers to only stock one unit to do almost all applications.

GSR-UV01, Universal

The re-released Harley Davidson, (GSR-HM51) application now includes a weather-proof enclosure as well as the SXV300 SiriusXM tuner, all in one unit, which now allows multiple source switching between the iPhone and SXM source via the factory radio.

This VAIS solution connects directly to the original factory radio and allows the vehicle owner to listen to satellite radio through the existing factory system. The VAIS integrated solution also allows for full control of satellite radio functions – changing stations, setting presets, steering wheel functions, etc. In the Harley Davidson, all controls are done thru the handlebars and factory buttons.

“Since 2003, VAIS Technology have been developing satellite radio adapters for vehicles that aren’t equipped from the factory with SiriusXM tuners,” Dennis Hopper, Vice President of Sales, says. “While satellite radio is more popular than ever, many new OEM vehicles still don’t come equipped from the factory with satellite tuners. Over the last few years many OEM’s are removing satellite tuners from their base model vehicles. VAIS Tech. develops simple, easy to install integrated solutions that add satellite radio, but preserve factory functions.”
